THE MAN BEHIND THE FOOD

Jahil's culinary career began in his hometown of Crestone, CO before relocating here to Salida. Having worked in local kitchens for several years, he decided to strike out on his own in 2018, opening the well known curry cart, King Kaeng's, first at Alpine Park, now located inside Tres Litros Beer Co. Self taught, Jahil has spent the last six years honing his craft, pulling inspiration from his own love of exotic and foreign cuisine. Treating each dish as a work of art, his passion for using locally sourced products and hand crafting his recipes from scratch, has led to his food becoming some of the most popular in Chaffee County.

Bánh Vivant is the latest venture from Jahil, who opened the small eatery alongside his family in October 2024. Their mission is to bring a taste of Southeast Asia to the Heart of the Rockies, featuring a simple yet delicious menu, fresh ingredients, and an exciting new lunch experience for everyone!
